Find your Google Search ad spend since 2016

Use Google Ads Report editor to find your total Search advertising spend. Follow the steps below to generate and check your report.

Step 1: Open Report editor

Sign in to Google Ads and select the account you want to review. Open the link below, or go to Campaigns > Insights and reports > Report editor.

Step 2: Copy and generate the report

Copy the text below and paste it into the Describe the report you want to generate field in the Generate report panel. Then click Generate.

Step 3: Check your Search spend total

Review the generated report before using the total. Confirm these settings:

  • Accounts: include only the account or accounts you intend to review. The example below shows All accounts.
  • Date range: set the start date to January 1, 2016 and the end date to today, or the last date you need.
  • Filter: confirm Campaign type is Search.
  • Cost: read the total and note the currency shown. The example uses Cost (Converted currency).

Once you have checked the report, click Download to save a copy. Keep the report’s date range and currency with the total you share.
